This is good news for the people of Borno State, with the  State scholarship any indigene of Borno State can apply and get a scholarship to study medicine, engineering or the Chinese language in China.

All thanks to the Governor of Borno State Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, who initiated this special scholarship opportunity for the good people of Borno State.

This scholarship is open for students in Borno state who wish to study medicine, engineering and even the Chinese language in China. Remember this scholarship is only open for the indigene of Borno state, meaning you shouldn’t consider it if you are not an indigene. But not to worry, we will be writing about other scholarship opportunities for you, that is if you missed this one.

Details to know about the scholarship 

It might interest you to know that the Borno state scholarship is only meant for people who are indigenes of Borno state, meaning people like me from Ebonyi can’t apply.

The Borno State Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship program fully funded for Borno State students. The scholarship is funded by the Ministry of Education.

The sole aim of this scholarship is to support students till they complete their tertiary education. It’s open to any Borno state student in any Tertiary institution, like a university, Polytechnic, or college of education.

The application date for the scholarship is from the 8 of July to the 8 of August, though this year’s application has ended, all you have to do is wait and get ready for the next year’s opportunity.

One of the most interesting parts is that you will get to study in China for any of the courses either medicine, engineering or even the Chinese language.

Requirements

Unlike other scholarship examination, which requires lots of things to enable stand a chance, the Borno scholarship is very easy to apply for and does not require many requirements.

You only need to have a high Waec score, must be between the ages of 18 to 25, also you must be an indigene of Borno state.

This scholarship is for only those who wish to become a doctor, or engineer and also for those who want to learn the Chinese language.

 Scholarship eligibility criteria

As I said earlier, this scholarship is only open to indigenes of Borno State, meaning if you are not an indigene you should forget about it.

Also to qualify for this scholarship program you must have good scores in the following subjects

• English language
• Mathematics
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics

If you pass all these above-listed subjects then your chance of getting the scholarship is quite getting easier.

The Chinese language must have an outstanding result in your Art subject during Waec.

Minimum Marks

• Medicine (MBBS): Achieve at least 75% in WAEC
• Engineering: Achieve at least 65% in WAEC

How much is the Borno State scholarship worth

There is no specific amount placed on this scholarship, all we know is that the scholarship fund is enough to cover all your tertiary fees will you complete.

If you are in doubt, we assure you that this scholarship is fully funded by the Borno state government and supported by the Nigerian Ministry of Education.

Eligibility and requirements

The Borno State scholarship is meant only for undergraduate students from Borno State in any part of the country. To apply for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements.

• Must be a Borno state indigene
• Must be an undergraduate in any recognised Tertiary institutions in Nigeria and abroad.
• Must reside in Borno state and currently admitted into any school in Nigeria.

To partake in the Borno State scholarship you must provide;

• Complete an online scholarship examination
• Submit all the necessary documents
• Undergo all the assessment
• Provide your certificate of state of origin
• Provide your FSLC
• Jamb admission letter
• SSCE admission letter
• Birth Certificate
• School admission letter
• Recent passport photograph

Steps to apply for the Borno State Scholarship

Applying for the Borno  Scholarship is quite easy if you have met the above requirements, then you can apply using the steps listed below.

1. Create an email account using a valid email address.

2. A confirmation link will be sent to your email.

  3. Click on the email button to confirm your registration.

4Loginin with your email address and password

5. You will be granted access to the application form. The application is in stages that you must complete.

6. Provide the required information and click save.

7. Upload a passport photograph and save

8. Fill all the required fields, save and click

9Provide your academic details on the next page. Save and click Next.

10. Provide your SSCE result details, save and click Next.

11. Upload the scanned copies of your admission letter, indigene certificate and SSCE results on the next page.

12. Review your application before you click submit download a copy of your application for reference purposes.
